About

The 6th International JA-YE Alumni Europe Leadership conference 2009 brings together JA-YE Alumni from across Europe. For 6 days these young entrepreneurs and leaders will be trained to define sustainable leadership. The training will develop their competences in leadership and experience in teamwork management

[Sustainability defined] In this context we use the definition of sustainable development from the Brundtland Commission: development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We are lifting the core values of this idea and applying it on a broad spectrum of leadership and business topics.

Goals for the participants
[use PASSION - develop RELATIONS - take ACTION]

  • Develop and improve upon leadership skills of the young entrepreneurs
  • Get a hands-on experience of cross-cultural opportunities
  • For the participants build a European personal and professional network
  • Support JA-YE alumni organizations on a national and international level
  • Cooperate with the business world in creating sustainable solutions
  • Use the passion from individuals sharing their stories of business, failure, life and success
  • Invest in a network with opportunities and take the next step towards sustainability.
  • Learn to utilize synergies within teams of inspiring people
  • Define the core aspects of sustainable passion, relations and actions
  • Have fun!

We believe that sustainability is much more than a buzz word frequently used in environmental debates. In turbulent times of a global financial crisis this conference brings attention to many aspects of sustainability. While some companies are going down others are emerging from the ashes. Participants at this conference will be facilitated in assessing this question to discovering what makes the difference - how to become a sustainable leader?

The main purpose of the conference is to inspire, educate and train the participants to become sustainable leaders by providing them a 360-degree perspective on both sustainability and leadership, enable them to comprehend and appreciate a diverse cross-cultural network, teach them about entrepreneurial educational possibilities, focal points for future businesses, and expressional skills through presentations.
